Last Wednesday, I visited Bathhouse in Flatiron with a friend. We wanted to see how clean it was, do some people watching, and get a feel for the overall atmosphere. The visit surpassed our expectations.
From the moment I walked in, I was immediately struck by the design. The space felt like something out of a Star Wars-esque sci-fi movie, with dim lighting, sleek, modern aesthetics, and high-tech features.
A loud gong interrupted our hot tub session and led us to a sauna room for a salt-scented meditation with house music and bath bombs. I wore the Coastal Crush One-Piece, and my friend wore the Cinch Her top paired with Soho swim bottoms, and both were perfect for the space. Whether you’re lounging or hitting the cold plunge, a swimsuit is a must, and we felt comfortable in what we chose. There was a wide variety in what people were wearing, from brazilian thongs to cover ups, and we were also surprised by the age range of people there, both young and old.
One thing I loved was the no-phones policy. It felt refreshing to be in a space where everyone was actually engaging with each other, and of course it added to the overall sense of privacy. Despite being a Wednesday night, it was surprisingly very lively and packed- we were even shushed at the salt bath multiple times since people were all talking very loudly.
All in all, I had so much fun and would totally recommend Bathhouse if you’re looking for a modern place to relax, socialize, and, of course, show off your favorite swimsuits.
